📜 A Journey Through History

The northern part of Kalloor village constitutes present-day Kadukutty Panchayat. The region was formerly part of the old Adoor Firka. During that period, it was known as Kalloor Vadakkummuri Panchayat.

The first Malayalam printing press established in Kerala by Arnos Pathiri was located near Sampaloor in this Panchayat. This gives the region a special place in the history of Malayalam language and printing.

To resist the invasion of Tipu Sultan, the rulers of Travancore and Cochin jointly constructed a long fortification extending from the Arabian Sea to the Western Ghats. Remnants of the fort, its associated trenches and military equipment can still be seen in various parts of the region.

Kadukutty is also the birthplace of the renowned leader Pambilly Govinda Menon.
